It's Thursday afternoon and my weekend started at 9:50 this morning, what a tough life. I still haven't heard back from the rugby team, and I'm getting a little antsy to get out and join some sort of club or sport so I can meet some English kids.
Having Skype, being on e-mail all day, and having Facebook having definitely helped me stay connected and get over the hump of adjusting because they give me an anchor to the familiar. I don't want to start using them as a crutch though, to make everything easy and to keep me from fully exploring/expanding/experiencing the world I'm only in for a few months.
Here are some pics from today:
Great Ben!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a good feeling to have a productive, fun day! I think that the highs and lows of a travelers life are so much more extreme than the highs and lows of someone who is living at home in their comfort zone. It can be a great thing, and also a terrible thing, as I know you have discovered. That just means, don't get discouraged when you're on the low side because the high will be just that much sweeter!
I am glad to see that you've took your aggressive exploratory tendencies from Costa Rica and applied them over there in England. The more people you meet and things you discover, the richer your overall experience will be...at least I think so.
Anyhoo, it was nice to see you beautiful face the other day and I'm glad to hear the strep is clearing up!
